Open Enrollment Child Welfare Pathway to Authorization Series
The Ontario Association of Children’s Aid Societies is pleased to offer the Open Enrollment Child Welfare Pathway to Authorization Series. This Series is available to graduates who have completed either a college diploma or university degree program and are pursuing a career in child welfare. Participants will complete eLearning components and attend classroom sessions for all eight courses of the Child Welfare Pathway to Authorization curriculum and will then write the Authorization Candidacy Exam as part of the Series.
The Open Enrollment Child Welfare Pathway to Authorization Series will permit participants who successfully complete all requirements to be granted 'Conditional Ready to Authorize' status. This status will then allow participants to apply for positions as child welfare or child protection workers and reduce the on the job new worker training time. Participants will be awarded a completion certificate upon successfully completing the Series. Please note that completion of this training does not guarantee employment with any individual Children’s Aid Society or OACAS. Individual CASs have their own hiring requirements and will hire new workers based on education qualifications, experience and other requirements as defined by each CAS.
NOTE: Pre-approval by OACAS is required to register.
